if we’ve been friends on goodreads for a while (add me as a friend please), you’ll know that for the past few months, i’ve been consuming historical romance more than food. saying i’ve become addicted to the genre is an euphemism. it’s literally all i think about, because it’s THAT good.
that’s why, i’ve come to do my duty and convince you, lovely person reading this post, to join me (and other historical romance enthusiasts) and get into this beautiful genre.
(you don’t have to, but if you do i will be so! happy!)
i decided to list (yes, it’s a list, again) REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD READ HISTORICAL ROMANCE!
one: it’s so addictive!
most of the historical romance novels that i read are just so addictive. you literally can’t keep your eyes from the page. there’s not much action happening since it’s a romance, but still. as someone who takes a little break every 30 pages, i can confirm that i was so into the story once that i sat and read half of the book in one sitting. yeah, it’s hard to believe.
two: it’s fun, light-hearted, and heart-warming
i still haven’t read a lot of historical romance, but all the books i’ve read so far that fall under the genre just give me so much happiness and are just delightful. my heart is filled with warmth and comfort every time i finish a story. it’s just so…*sigh*
three: they’re stress-free
if you’re busy and stressed, and just want something to forget all the problems, all you should do is pick up a historical romance and tada! you’ll keep the stress out of your mind for a moment. and when you’re done, you’ll be ready and motivated to go back to your work/studies and give more.
(actually, you can just read them whenever and wherever!)
four: they’re cheap!
in fact, historical romance novels usually isn’t as expensive as YA copies. at least, where i live, they’re much cheaper. so i must assume that it’s the case in other places as well. anyway, a broke bean is happy about it!
five: the romance is so swoon-worthy
it’s just so cute and so beautiful and so so so…*swoons*. the excitment i get over the chemistery between the characters is unreal. i want it to last but at the same time i just want the two main characters to be together PLEASE.
*turns into a puddle of feels*
aaaaand that’s it. of course, there are many more reasons why you should read historical romance, but these are the most important ones, in my opinion.
